Oakland Forward is an non-profit organization based in Pontiac, Michigan that works to engage, educate and empower residents all throughout Oakland County. Through our work in different B.I.P.O.C. communities, providing resources, training and workshops, we help equip people to be proactive in the fight for social justice and economic equity. At the core of our work, we believe it is our job to advocate, and help others advocate for public policy that truly benefits all of us.

By tackling issues such as racial healing, increased civic engagement, and social justice education, Oakland Forward can be a catalyst for change in Michigan’s most prosperous county. As an organization led by People of Color, we seek to target anywhere in Oakland County where People of Color reside, including, but not limited to: Auburn Hills, Ferndale, Oak Park, Pontiac, Royal Oak Township and Southfield.

We meet each person we come in contact with, where they are, no matter the circumstance. If we are going to have a winning chance at getting policies and elected officials that will truly fight to:

• Improve our education system and curriculum

• Provide every worker with paid family and medical leave

• Increase voting access in marginalized communities

• Reform the criminal justice system

• Secure economic justice for all people.
